USB Stream Pipe

USB I2C Spy

The USB Stream Pipe enables data exchange between PC and external hardware at higher transfer rate up to 40 MB/s. A high speed 8/16 bit parallel interface allows external hardware to connect directly to the internal FIFO. The rate at which data is written into the FIFO is 96 MB/s for a word wide data bus or 48 MB/s for a byte wide data bus.

The USB Stream Pipe offers developers an easy way to add USB 2.0 High Speed interface to embedded systems without dealing with the development of troublesome firmware, drivers or software. The simple integration of the provided driver/dll into own software allows an easy, quick access to the hardware.

In addition, the board offers two more interfaces for communication with external hardware: I2C and UART.

The I2C bus controller operates only as master. The I2C frequency is adjustable via software (100 or 400 kHz). There is a 2.2K resistor on each I2C line (SCL, SDA). The lines are pulled up to 3.3V.

The asynchronous, full duplex serial port with configurable baud rate 2400-57600 bps provides another possibility to communicate with external hardware.

No separate power packs for voltage supply are needed. The USB Stream Pipe is bus-powered. All I/O pins are 3.3V TTL and 5V tolerant.

The kit includes a sophisticated driver and a 32 bit DLL that allows the integration of the module into own application. A detailed description and some examples of the DLL are also included.
